Research Study Support
Center members are available for collaboration on all aspects of study conduct from the planning phases to results presentation and publication including study design, randomization, data monitoring, interim analysis, final analysis, and interpretation of results. Collaborations beginning in the earliest stages of a project fully utilize the center expertise and help ensure a better quality study. Many issues can arise in the planning stages of a study. The MADA center can assist investigators with developing the background and rationale of a study, clearly specifying the research hypothesis, identifying endpoints and covariates, developing data collection instruments, providing sample size and power calculations, developing randomization schemes, planning for ongoing monitoring, and incorporating statistical sections into grants, protocols, and IRB applications. During the course of the study center members can assist with accrual monitoring, randomization issues, unexpected methodological issues, conducting interim analysis and provide statistical expertise to Data Safety and Monitoring Boards. Once data is collected center members can provide appropriate statistical analysis, interpretation of results, graphics and tables for presentation, and assist with manuscript preparation. Assistance is also available to address federal rules about data sharing and study analysis documentation. For assistance please fill out the MADA Center Consultation Form and email it to Dr. Paul Thompson. |
